The tilting curvaceous recording presents ever evolving branches of a single metagroove composition (tilting curvaceous), which is to say a composition of an overall feel developed through a series of contrasting grooves. Each of these groove instances, or cells, lays out a particular polyrhythm, with one pattern stated by the bass and another one in a more treble voice, so that two melody lines run throughout. The entire series can be looped, or an individual cell may loop, or, the material may be freely developed. This is up to the musicians. Counterlines get added to the initial lines. Certain features get emphasized, extended, exaggerated or transformed. This can generate music that grows in multiple directions simultaneously. Its evolution before & after can be heard on the videos below.

The aspirations are formally intersectional, interfacing slowly evolving compositional concepts & designs, extended, modular & flexibly jointed interactive matrices (i.e. “forms”) with that dialogical compositional practice ordinarily identified as collective improvisation.

Multivoiced polyphony, coding polyrhythm within stacked, multidirectionally jointed countermelodies, incites close listening & careful coordination without prescribing inventional limits.
While a question (rather than answer) generated music, ongoing rapport continues with the practices & attitudes of the Blues Continuum, with pan-African models. with blues, with bebop (inclusion vs. excision), wherever the music may stretch.
